Adesi 15 Tropea – Suites de Charme is a new hospitality venue in the heart of Tropea, where luxury and history come together to create a unique and unforgettable experience.

The apartment is the result of the renovation of a building located in the historic center of Tropea, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. This was once the area of the city’s ancient defensive walls, built by Belisarius, a general of Emperor Justinian, around 550 AD, which culminated in the castle.

Between this castle and the Vatican Gate, Don Pedro de Toledo, Viceroy of Naples, ordered the construction of the Aragonese Bastion around the 1500s, with the Lower Tower (Torre Bassa) positioned behind it. In 1875, the Bastion, which faced what is now Via Margherita, was demolished to widen the street, leaving only the Lower Tower, located on Vico Adesi.

The apartment “Adesi 15 Tropea” is situated precisely on Via Regina Margherita, which was built on the embankment connecting the Vatican Gate area to the New Gate (Porta Nuova). The entrance to the residence is on Vico Adesi, the former path of the “Rivellino,” a defensive structure for the ancient city walls, whose demolition began in the early 1870s.

These are buildings that were developed and constructed after the demolition of the Aragonese Tower and the old walls—living testimony to a proud past and a historic attraction that once represented Tropea’s strength and which the current residences have absorbed and preserved.

Fittingly, Adesi 15 Tropea stands at the highest point of Tropea’s historic center, a further testament to its location on the original site of the Aragonese Tower.
