Kandy and Back
This is undoubtedly the most popular and fascinating day tour
we offer, Kandy the hill Capitol of SriLanka and the last stronghold
of the later Sinhalese King. Is located in the hills at an elevation
of 1,620 feet and 72 miles from Colombo. The drive takes you
through some of the most scenic parts of our island. There is
much to attract attention on the way. Lush green rice fields,
buffaloes working in rice fields, rubbeer and pineapple plantations.
As the elevation increases the scenery becomes more spectacular..Enroute
visit Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage and a tea factory and observe
the different processes of manifacture.Drive to the famous Royal
Botanical Gardens at Peradeniya, which contain specimens of
the Flora of the whole tropical world and on to the University
of SriLanka. After lunch visit the famous Temple of the Tooth.Drive
long the Upper Lake Drive to have a bird’s eye view of
the Hill Capital.
